Experience the power of inclusion with Waves Coffee as we proudly partner with Joe's Table, providing valuable job experiences and empowering individuals with autism to thrive in the workplace.
Joe’s Table began as a father’s dream for his son to experience the simple joy and confidence that comes with meaningful employment. Joseph Chung, son of Peter and Stephanie Chung, was diagnosed with autism as a child and was often only given behind-the-scenes jobs due to his cognitive disability. But Joe had a natural ability for connecting with others and his parents believed a coffee shop full of people could be a place for him to truly thrive. Unfortunately, in September of 2012, he passed away in a tragic swimming accident at the age of 32, just a couple of months before the opening of the first Joe's Table. Inspired by Joe and his profound impact on people around him, his family continues to raise awareness for those with differing abilities with the expansion of Joe's Table.
Waves Coffee House was also founded on a father and son story with the combined mission to connect with great people who share our passions and ideals in making neighborhood coffee houses! A coffee house is a cornerstone of a community and should provide a place to connect with all its members.
By aligning these organizations we aim to provide a unique opportunity for those seeking new skills that will last a lifetime while providing a service that enriches the lives of everyone we meet.
Let's embark on a journey of bringing all our community members together over good coffee, and a story about the ability of Joe".
